Friends, Parents, Countrymen...
It's become apparent to me that my earlier announcement reached very few people, and is probably stuck in spam filters. (I imagine my email as a speck of coffee grounds suspended over a huge binary Mr. Coffee.) Undaunted, I am trying again, this time using a super-fine "Turkish grind" gig announcement which will hopefully breeze through the filters intact. (Turkish Grind is a magical powder that can be achieved using a nifty setting at Trader Joe's, or just by grinding your poor pound of coffee for about half an hour while other customers complain to management. If you have your own coffee grinder at home, well la-ti-da...) The point is that I have a GREAT SHOW FOR KIDS this FRIDAY EVENING!!! (7/27) Six PM at Tumble & Tea Cafe 4210 Telegraph Ave, Oakland (510) 601-7378 I'll be playing two sets, accompanied by drummer and puppeteer ROB BAYNE. TUMBLE AND TEA is a huge 3,000 square foot space for kids and parents with a special "corral" where little ones do their thing (dance, sing, run amok) while parents are able to do their thing (drink coffee/beer/wine, eat, schmooze, get a short break from aforementioned little ones) while keeping a somewhat watchful eye on goings on within the corral.
