WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE?
Last night I had a dream about a girl I could've married,
and several minor characters of popular intrigue.
The apocalypse was coming, I was paranoid and bumming
Stowed aboard a rocket ship for Washington D.C.
Carrying the evidence the heavyweights were after
Followed by an evil man whose name you wouldn't know
I was changing my description when I recognized his laughter
Curled against a window reading Edgar Allen Poe
And what's the difference?
What's the difference if it's only a crazy dream?
What's the difference? What's the difference?
It's as real as my whole world seems
I quickly told my secret, I told her bout my plan
To make our leaders see some sense and live to tell the tale
She listened as she twirled her hair in rings around her fingers
I said you must be brave. She said we mustn't fail.
Chorus
I asked her are you married? She said I'm divorced.
I asked her am I dreaming and she kissed me
For the longest time
And said of course
But what's the difference?
I don't know how it happened, I guess we got off course
We were suddenly in England by some logical mistake
On a misty country highway I told her that I loved her
She said, you won't mean a word of that the second you awake.
But what's the difference? What's the difference
It was only a crazy dream
What's the difference? What's the difference?
She was real as my whole life seems
